Featuring harmonic 5ths, syncopated rhythms and broken chords, this late-elementary-level piano solo is a delightful musical expression of what many would call their most beloved time of the year, autumn!

On a Brisk Autumn Breeze is a short piece that's perfect to use as a supplement during a fall lesson but is also equally rewarding as a fall-themed recital pick. It has an appealing contemporary style with modern harmonies that students will relate to. Much of the piece features a broken chord pattern split between the hands with a flowing "123 123 12" rhythmic pattern in 8ths. There's a little bit of shifting from position to position but much of the time the hands are in a five finger scale of some kind, so it'll be fairly easy for most late elementary students to map out these moves. A wonderful piece like this carves out a unique place in my studio as a quick reinforcement of important concepts concealed behind beautiful music that I know my students will enjoy playing.
